Hope Adobe pick this up quickly for an Lr 9. Like jorn-t found when he tried jpg export producing 4.5 MB, 45 megapixel files without 4K resizing, it looks like jpg export also ignores settings and applies default/heavy compression. The exported jpgs remained at the native (original) 5184 x 3456 dimensions, with file sizes again very low at 0.8 to 1.5 MB. I set the LRTimelapse export plugin to the "LRT (JPG, 4K)" preset to see if the jpg intermediary files would be correctly resized. I then did a further test in Lr 9 to test resizing for 4K export. In the new Lr 9 test export, the jpgs are exported at original size: 5184 x 3456, however, file sizes are reduced significantly, ranging from 0.8 to 1.5 MB. There’s support for some additional cameras, local Black and White clipping controls, and a new effect for removing atmospheric haze from your photos. These are incremental updates to Lightroom’s spring release of 2015/6.0. In the original exported sequence from Lr 8.4.1, the jpgs were exported at original size: 5184 x 3456 (EOS 7D) with a file size ranging from 4.5 to 7.1 MB. Adobe just released Lightroom 2015.1, also known as Lightroom 6.1, as well as Lightroom Mobile 1.5 for iOS. The LRT export plugin was set to the "LRT (JPG, Ori)" preset for both the original export from Lr 8.4.1 and the new test export from Lr 9.0. To test, I re-exported a short experimental sequence I shot and edited only a few days ago in Lr 8.4.1. Having updated to Lr 9 & DNG converter 12, I wanted to test how the jpg export was affected by this Lr 9 bug.

Additionally it will install two “ Workaround” Export-Presets, that you can use until the problem is fixed. This won’t fix the problem in Lightroom, but give you a notification in LRTExport, in case your Lightroom version is affected.
They say, they are working on it ( here is a forum thread, where I also linked to my bug report to Adobe).
That means, if you choose any of the TIFF settings in LRTExport, you will get JPG files, named as TIFF, but still JPG files, which will make the Renderer fail.Īdobe is informed and acknowledged the issue. Please update to Lightroom 9.1 asap, if you are using LRTimelapse!Īs I already wrote in my last newsletter, Lightroom Classic 9.0.0 has a severe bug which concerns custom export plugins, like LRTExport.īasically Lightroom 9.0.0 ignores any custom export settings that 3rd party export modules set and instead always exports in JPG with default settings, no matter what the Plugin says.
Update: the following has been fixed now in Lightroom 9.1, which is available since mid of December 2019.
